About the event

ART/LIFE: Changing the World Through the Arts is an exciting new lecture series hosted by pianist and educator, Lisa Yui. This two-part series will take place on February 7 and April 4, 2019 at the elegant Yamaha Artist Services in New York City, and will present six professionals in various fields whose work have been influenced by the arts. 

These guest lecturers will discuss how their lives have led to what they do today, and how the arts have helped shape their careers. Each evening will include a panel discussion with three lecturers, followed by a Q&A led by Lisa Yui.

Feb. 7

-Simi Linton, Ph.D - Writer, Disability/Arts Consultant

-Rachel Hott, Ph.D - Clinical Psychologist, Co-director of The NLP Center of New York, Ericksonian Hypnosis Specialist

-Youngmoo Kim, Ph.D - Director of the Expressive and Creative Interaction Technologies (ExCITe) Center at Drexel University

April 4

-Michael Alcee, Ph.D - Clinical Psychologist, Mental Health Coordinator at Manhattan School of Music

-Tereza Lee, D.M.A. - Classical Pianist, DREAM Act Activist

-Michael Hafftka - Visual Artist
